In the truck workshop and throughout the trailer industry, the orderly routing and fixation of cables and wiring harnesses is a fundamental part of every electrical installation. Cables that are not properly secured are at risk of chafing against sharp edges, working loose due to vibration, or creating installations that fail to meet professional standards. Adhesive cable tie mounts offer a practical and time-efficient solution for anchoring cable ties to flat and slightly curved surfaces without the need for drilling or screwing into the substrate.

The self-adhesive base of an adhesive cable tie mount allows fixation points to be applied directly to materials such as painted steel, aluminium, plastics and lacquered sheet metal. In trailer construction and during the assembly of semi-trailers, this is a significant advantage. The bodywork of a trailer or HGV body typically consists of painted steel structures and aluminium panels where drilling is time-consuming and unnecessarily compromises the integrity of the surface. By pressing a mount onto a clean and dry surface, the fixing point is ready for use within seconds.

Adhesive cable tie mounts are available in a range of configurations suited to different applications. The smallest type, with a footplate of approximately 19 by 19 millimetres, is used for narrow cable ties in confined spaces such as near junction boxes, behind panels or along the inner walls of a semi-trailer. Wider variants with a footplate of 27 by 27 millimetres provide a larger bonding area, delivering greater resistance to tensile loads where multiple cables are grouped into a single bundle.

A multi-slot variant with four channels allows several cable ties to be fixed at a single mounting point. This type is used in trailer and HGV body assembly at wiring junctions where different cable groups converge, such as at the transition between chassis and bodywork, or at the front of a semi-trailer where power supply and signal cables come together.

Adhesive cable clamps extend the range for applications where an individual cable or conduit must be secured directly without a cable tie. With a clamp diameter of 6.3 millimetres they are suited to thin wiring and single conductors, while the 10.0 millimetre version handles heavier power cables, flexible conduits or cable ducts that are subjected to mechanical stress and vibration in service. Vibration resistance is particularly relevant in the truck and trailer sector, where vehicles are continuously exposed to road vibration and powertrain inputs.

Colour choice among adhesive mounts is more functional than it appears. Black versions are generally UV-resistant and are used on surfaces exposed to sunlight, such as trailer roofs or external body panels. White variants are applied where a neutral finish is required or where the installation is carried out in a light-coloured interior. In the truck workshop, colour is also considered when planning the readability of a wiring installation and the overall finish quality expected in professional bodywork.

The adhesive cable tie mount with a channel width of 12.5 millimetres and a height of 8 millimetres is designed for wider cable ties and heavier cable bundles. The 8 millimetre height lifts the bundle clear of the substrate surface, promoting ventilation and preventing wear caused by contact with the mounting surface. This type is used where multiple cable layers converge at a single point, such as in the wiring of multi-axle semi-trailers or in installations with extensive lighting and sensor systems.

In the daily workflow of the truck workshop, in trailer manufacture and in HGV body assembly, adhesive cable tie mounts and adhesive cable clamps are an indispensable part of the installer's toolkit. They allow cables to be routed, grouped and fixed quickly and durably on virtually any surface, without additional tools or surface preparation. Whether laying a complete wiring installation in a new trailer, repairing a displaced cable route, or extending an existing installation on a semi-trailer, these mounts provide a reliable and time-efficient fixing method that matches the working practices of the professional trailer builder and body manufacturer.
